Double Scoop of Peonies features 20 stems of mixed pink, purple and white peonies, arranged as a 360-degree bouquet. Peonies grow locally in Ontario in May-July but we are lucky to have these sensational stems in the fall from our friends in South America. Rest assured that they are the freshest stems around!
Peonies start as balls shaped like 'ice cream scoops' and open into large flowers with ruffled layers of petals with a delightful fragrance. Our peonies are delivered in more closed buds as they are fresh from the grower, so you can enjoy them for as long as possible! Warmer water can accelerate the opening of the flowers should you wish for them to bloom faster. Once bloomed, peonies tend to have a shorter than average lifespan, but it’s their fleeting beauty that makes them so special!
Your peonies are safely wrapped in a hydration bag and packaged in our signature carrying carton, keeping them fresh until you put them in a vase. See our recommended instructions below to best care for your peonies.
To maximize the life of your peonies:
Unwrap your flowers and remove the hydration pack and tie.
You may notice some blemishes on the outer petals of the peonies - this is totally normal and will not affect their overall health. Once the flower opens, these petals will go to the underside, making the blemishes unnoticeable.
Trim the stems upon arrival for best water absorption and place flowers in a clean vase filled with room temperature water.
Change/add fresh water daily to prolong the life of your blooms.
Keep the flowers in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight and heat.
Some flowers will bloom faster than others and at different times. Remove stems as they expire to keep the others blooming bright!
Peonies may arrive with sap on the buds that may prevent them from opening; this can be removed with warm water.
If some peonies are not blooming, a gentle massage will help them open.
Why no flower food? Changing / adding water is really all peonies need to keep them happy and healthy!
This bouquet contains flowers that are harmful to pets if ingested so be sure to keep out of reach from your furry friend!
